You have an idea. Now what? Look for sounding boards but don’t worry about the NDA, ideas are plentiful the ability to execute is rare. Share the business idea early in order to get valuable feedback; don’t share finer points or the keys to the innovation. For example don’t discuss your innovative search algorithm; instead discuss the need for another innovative search algorithm, who the probable customers are, or how to scale out a new search company. Ideas that are set free always find their way home.
Rarely has anything I ever created resembled what I envisioned at the moment of the initial idea. Exploration, tinkering, throwing it all away and starting over are all necessary steps in the evolution of any product or service. Bouncing that Idea off of a colleague, trusted friend or potential customer is a logical first step.
